Sharing Session by Staff Advisor

Dear members,

Mr Soh Kim Fai, Staff Advisor of SPBS will be chairing the sharing session. It will consist of Staff Advisor, Council Members, SPBS Alumnus and Ordinary Members. It will be a two way communication in the form of a discussion, where it provides the SPBS Alumnus and Ordinary Members to share their suggestions to improve the Society in various ways. Also, our Alumnus could make use of this opportunity to share with council members and Ordinary Members their past experiences such as in running the Society, organizing of activities and many other areas.

Date: 27/04/07, Friday
Time: 7pm (Registration begins at 7pm)
Venue: T1846 (Located beside the Convention & Exhibition Centre)

The aims of the sharing session are:
1: To allow establish rapport between the Staff Advisors, Council Members, SPBS Alumnus and Ordinary Members.
2: To engage the SPBS Alumnus and Ordinary Members through the Sharing Session.
3: To provide a channel for the parties involved to share their suggestions and past experiences to improve the Society.
4: Inculcate a sense of belonging for the Society in Ordinary Members.

All members including Associate members is required to attend.

Upcoming Membership Orientation Day

Dear SPBS members,

On behalf of the Management Committee of SPBS, I'm pleased to inform you that the Society will be holding a Membership Orientation Day for new members, as well as current members.

Time: 5.30pm sharp (Registration begins at 5pm)

The objectives of the activity are as follows:

1: To get to know the members and let them know us
2: To introduce the club to our members
3: To foster bonding among the management committee and members

All new members are required to attend the Membership Orientation Day. Current members may attend the activity to receive the latest updates on upcoming activities and the policies of the Society.

Resuming of daily and weekly activities

Dear SPBS members,

Welcome back to school! We are glad to inform you that all usual club activities shall resume on 16 April 2007.

Daily Chanting
Monday - Friday : 5.30pm - 6.o0pm

Daily Meditation
Monday - Friday : 6.00pm - 6.30pm

Regular Meetings(All members)*
Every wednesday : 3.30pm - 5.30pm

*Student Members are required to attend weekly regular meetings

Opening Hours for the Clubroom

Monday, Tueday, Thurday: 5.15pm - 6.45pm**

Wednesday and Friday: 1pm -6.45pm**

* Unless there are any activities, the clubroom will not be opened on Saturdays, Sundays, public holidays and school vacation
**The clubroom may close later than 6.45pm

Our Clunroom is allocated at room PC-126, level 2 in the Polycenter.

Request for Volunteers for The Bodhi Big Walk

Dear SPBS Members,

On behalf of the Management Committee of the Society, I'm pleased to inform you that our Society is part of the Organising Committee of The Bodhi Big Walk.

However, the Organising Committee requires at least 6 volunteers from our Society to help out in the small dance lasting 5 to 10 minutes, which was meant as a warm-up exercise for the participants prior to the start of The Bodhi Big Walk. Also, you may be roped in to help as ushers after the small dance. Prior to helping out on the actual day, you are required to come for training for the small dance.

The details of the training session are as follows:

Date: 21/04/07, 12/05/07, 26/05/07 and 9/06/07. The dates stated fall on Saturdays.
Time: 2.30pm to 4.30pm
Venue: The Buddhist Library (No 2. Lorong 24A Geylang Road)

The Bodhi Big Walk will take place on 17/06/07, Sunday. Further details on the time and venue will be released later.

Let me give you an introduction of the activity. The Bodhi Big Walk is organized by The Buddhist Library. It is a family outing event that aims to promote a healthy lifestyle. Besides, it helps to raise funds, which was used to help run the The Buddhist Library.

We will then contact you to give you more details of the activity. At the same time, if you are unsure of how to make your way to the activity, please inform us when we contact you, so that we can arrange for a time to meet with you and bring you to the venue.

Upcoming Ad-Hoc Activities

Dear SPBS Members,

On behalf of the Management Committee of SPBS, I'm pleased to inform you the upcoming Ad-Hoc Activities for the month of April.

They are CCA Drive, Freshmen Orientation Day & Sharing Session

1: CCA Drive

Date: 16/04/07 (Monday) to 18/04/07 (Wednesday)
Time: 9am to 5pm
Venue: SP Sports Hall (Near Food Court 5)

For non-members, you may register yourself as Ordinary Member at our booth.

For current members, please come down to the booth to renew your membership by signing up another form, if you wish to continue your membership as a Ordinary Member.

For graduating members and our alumnus, you may come down to the booth to sign up as Associate Member to receive updates on the Society's activities.

No membership fees will be charged. The validity date for Ordinary & Associate Membership is 1 year.

2: Freshmen Orientation Day
